KING

To know the history of the word "King".

"King" originated from the Hebrew language. In Latin its word for "King" is "Gen" both meaning life or origin. It was then found to have been changed slightly to "Kin" which also had a slight meaning change - family, or one who treats you like family. Shortly later we see the word "Kin-ing" which spread with the meaning of giving & protecting life. Now today we use the word "King" meaning a man or woman that protects.
